Get your feet sandal and flip flop ready with a few home ingredients.

After filing and trimming nails, soak your feet in a pan with warm water and 1/2 cup sea salt. Sea salt not only hydrates and softens skin, it neutralizes odor and speeds the healing of fungal infections. While soaking, use the salt at the bottom of pan to massage the bottoms of feet. A few drops of lavender or lemon oil can make a relaxing aromatherapy.

After enjoying your soak, mix 1/2 cup of sea salt with baby oil (Johnson's Baby Oil Gel with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E is nice). Add just enough baby oil to make the salt easy to handle. Rub feet liberally, paying extra attention to callous areas and heels. Use the salt to push back cuticle skin. While you have the mix available, why not treat your hands, arms, and elbows to the same treatment? The sea salt nourishes and rejuvenates dry, tired skin, leaving it feeling soft, silky, and hydrated. Your feet and hands will be glowing.

After your soak, rinse well and towel dry. Massage feet (and hands!) with your favorite lotion (Johnson's Baby Lotion is a personal favorite). Add a bit of polish remover to a cotton ball to remove excess oil from nails before polishing.

Set some time aside each week to relax and have a home pedicure and your feet will be summer ready all year long! Your feet will feel soft and energized and ready to rock your favorite sandals!
