Foot Odor

Are you getting tired of having sweaty, smelly feet? Are you hoping to discover secrets on how to stop feet from sweating? Plantar hyperhidrosis is a condition that affects as much as 3% of the population. Due to overactive sweat glands, many people experience a lot more perspiration than they should.

Thankfully, there really are some techniques you can try! While it's not easy to stop feet from sweating all the time, it's not impossible, either.

For mild and moderate sweating problems, herbal remedies can be very helpful. For extreme cases, diet modifications should be made. Some people even go so far as to undergo surgical procedures!

If you don't like the idea of surgery, here are some tips you can try on your own:

1. DO NOT WEAR TIGHT SOCKS! The socks you wear should fit snugly on your feet, but they should still allow your feet to breathe. It's a good idea to change them at least twice a day. That way, your feet will stay dry and you won't have to deal with foot odor as much. Take an extra pair to work or school with you and change during your break.

2. Soak your feet in brewed tea every single day. Brewed herbal teas contain properties that can keep your feet dry. Use ordinary black tea or sage tea. The tannins in tea can kill the bacteria that cause feet to be smelly.

3. Make sure you eat enough zinc in your diet. Zinc is an essential mineral which can regulate sweat glands and metabolism. If your metabolism is regulated properly, you will sweat less. Zinc supplements are available on the market, although you need to be careful with how many you take. Having too much zinc in your body is just as bad as not having enough.

4. There are certain foods you must avoid eating if you want to prevent your feet from sweating. These include: foods with a lot of salt, onions, garlic, spicy foods, and junk food. You should eat foods that contain a lot of calcium and vitamins. Also, opt for lean meat instead of red meat.

5. Avoid energy drinks. Drinks that contain a lot of caffeine and sugar will stimulate your nervous system a great deal. This will trigger sweating. You don't have to quick drinking them completely; just drink them in moderation. Be sure to drink tons of water every single day. Drinking a lot of water will flush toxins out of your system which will result in less sweating. Adequate amounts of water will also keep your body temperature low.

6. Wash your feet thoroughly every single day! You might want to mix tea tree oil into the water and soak your feet in the solution. Tea tree oil is a good herbal remedy for excess sweating. Whatever you do, don't use a harsh soap, or it will cause inflammation. Use a mild soap and gently scrub your feet. Make sure you rinse all of the soap and tea tree oil off of your feet when you're done washing them. Dry them with a clean towel and put on a good pair of socks.

7. Talcum powder can help prevent sweating. After a bath, pat some talcum powder onto the bottom of your feet. This should help keep them dry. This isn't a "cure", but it is a fast remedy that you can use whenever you have to go somewhere.

Now you have some ideas on what you can do to stop feet from sweating so much! These tips should help you get started on your quest to stop excess sweating for good.
